Short description
The Center for Electoral Justice & Research is a registered Non–Governmental Organization in Uganda devoted to advocating and enhancing the right to access of affordable and timely electoral justice at all levels through strategic interventions.
Full description
From real life experiences in election activities and election litigations and owing to our professions as young lawyers,
journalists and social workers, we realized a critical need to help the country entrench electoral justice as part of the
building blocks of democracy in our country.
We realized our potentials in championing advocacy for the same. This would later become the driving force behind our
resolve to establish an organization under which we would spread advocacy on the subject.
We seek to explore the underlying role of electoral justice in the realization and quest for peace, human rights and freedoms as cornerstones of a truly democratic societies. We aspire to work with partners as organizations and or individuals who relate well to our cause. Our pre–establishment findings showed that many a participants in the electoral processes in Uganda are either
ignorant or negligent about the subject of electoral justice to the extent that few are aware.
